What a Legend! is a free adult point-and-click adventure game with both sandbox and visual novel elements set in a medieval fantasy world.
The Story
The story is about a young man that goes to the biggest city in the realm to lose his virginity but ends up meeting a mysterious woman who sends him on an epic quest; a quest full of sexual encounters, unhappy housewives, beautiful damsels, comely magical creatures, and the chance to become a legend.
Gameplay
- In What a Legend! you explore the world, interact with characters, and complete their stories.
- Importantly, there are no wrong decisions in WaL. You experience the game by choosing whose quest line to complete.
- The quests often involve solving problems that different characters have and improving your standing with them to unlock sexual content.
- Being designed as a sandbox means that, eventually, you’ll be able to focus on whichever character you like (or several of them simultaneously).
- If you need help with any of the storylines, go to your tent, open the treasure chest and check the crystal ball for hints.
- Most female characters in the game are (or will be) conquerable. To reach each character’s sexual content, you’ll need to complete their respective storylines.
- The game contains NO NTR content (with a small exception in the prologue).

Hello! Just wanted to say, that I've never experienced anything like it! Upon my first day at this Masterfully crafted adventure, it took my breath away! Hugely hilarious, absolutely love each and every charactor and the stories & challenges are beautifully thought up and brought to life! I would like to make a contribution, but, would like to arrange to do it securely! How regularly are the updates, and from February 2024, when are we likely to come across the next update, to futher continue the next chapter, to this beautifully created animated adventure, might I ask!? Just wanted add, that the game itself, really reminds me of the legendary British Monty Python, & classic Carry on series, due to its naughty, cheeky comedy. It's an absolute treat to play!

no. we're a married couple that makes this game, and after the release of our last update, we had a baby which slowed us down. with time the number of hours we have been able to put into development has improved, and I expect we'll get back to a more 'normal' release schedule in the future.

I'm not part of their dev team but yes based on parts in the story there will be more content with different girls and the old ones.
The 0.7 will see the addition of at least one more female character (she'll have a supporting role and won't get her own update -- although there will be sex scenes with her in the future)

What are the advantages of paying patreon for this title?
depending on the tier, members have access to weekly reports, art creation videos, work-in-progress images, spoiler images, and participation in polls. You also get the game one day before the public when it's released.
none of these are essential for playing the game, which is completely free.
Is the low frame Android version good. My game app is closing when Simmon Hammedick is giving me blow job scene. I didn't use the low frame version is it a problem.

I suggest you check their site (just Google the game's name). They post frequent progress updates there and on their patreon. The next update is over 90% done at this point.
That was AWESOME !
I really got a "Monkey Island" vibe from this and the writing is really superb.
The story is deep and the lengthy quest really helps to connect with the characters... and the scenes are HOT.
Great work and can't wait for the release to buy it.
Couple of suggestions, I'd add more interactables in the background, more things you can find or click that might change or you comment as the art is so beautifully made and seems wasted when it's only background.
I do hope we will have lots of locations in the final release as the map world is Gorgeous and really inspiring.
Lastly I would add more "angles" to the scenes, or vary some of the mouth ones to be from different angles as some of them are really spicy and give depth to the character while others seem bland and repetitive.
I am jealous and inspired at the same time from what you were able to accomplish :D .
All in all this is a master course into how adult games should be.

You can check update history and notice that they always do big updates, focusing on single character, deeply developing its story line. Nothing disappointing about it
Very well made game, very detailed, vivid and beautiful art, very good mechanics and overall game design, good branching of the story with the different characters(I hope I can befriend the guards eventually, they seem cool) which compliments the classic main story very well, great animations which are smooth and not laggy/choppy which is the main problem in a lot of games but not in this one.
Points to improve on are to just add some more scenes with the characters and not degrade from the standards that you have already established.
Enjoyed it very much, 10/10, thank you for your hard work!

Even on their Patreon there has been no content update beyond what's available here. Some bug fixes [allegedly] and there's some kind of weekly "progress update."
They told us that Chapter 7 was already largely complete at least four months ago, yet it's still not out.
I get that it takes more time for indie devs to put together content, but the people paying for the patreon subscriptions have already paid well more than a AAA title waiting for one more little piece to come out.
It's an utter shame, the game was clearly going places.

That's simply false. We have never said that. I'm going to assume that you're not intentionally spreading misinformation and that you're just confusing us with another dev.
We have weekly reports for patrons and a daily progress tracker on our website/discord server/Patreon page.
I also think you don't understand the difference between supporting a project on Patreon (even for a month) and buying a game.
We are two people making the game, have had irl situations that have impacted the dev time, and the 0.7 has more words (translating into more dev time) than the previous two updates combined.
The sum of it is that if you want to play WaL! you will have to wait for as long as we decide it is necessary for us to complete the content planned, realize our vision for the story, and match the quality of the rest of the game. If that's too long for you (and it definitely seems like it), drop the game and forget about us. That would be better for you and even better for us.
And I'm going to assume that you're reacting emotionally and defensively rather than trying to lie to your customers.
I invite you to take a look at your logs. The last time I looked at this game was 133 days ago, and the language existing today is nearly identical to what I saw then. I made very similar comments at that time too.
You may have lost track of where the last four months went in your busy lives but the statement is quite accurate.
Developing a game takes time. At least the way we develop What a Legend does. Our previous releases took months to make, too, and the time we're taking for this release corresponds with the number of words the 0.7 update has (although there is more to this release's dev period due to IRL situations in the earlier months of the year, and not the past four months).
We have been as transparent as we can, and if the weekly reports repeat the same things, the reason is that that's what we have been working on: editing, posing, writing, fixing, polishing, going back and testing, redoing, and so on until we decide the update is ready. It's a repetitious job, but the percentage of our progress has increased, and, more importantly, the number of tasks we have covered has increased. My main concern is to have a quality release I'm happy with, and while I would love for that to happen faster, this is our development speed.
Now, I assume you're annoyed that you can't yet play the content, but spreading misinformation (i.e. saying that according to us the 0.7 content was ready months ago), based on what you probably read wrong (my guess is that you have confused us saying that the 0.7's first quest is finished with the completion of the whole content), mixed with your own assumptions about our development process, is not the best way to achieve that.

oh holy shit, the dev speaks! Don't take that the wrong way, but like... there hasn't been any word anywhere that I've seen, so I figured this was just dropped for some reason. Honestly just glad to see a message saying it hasn't been, I'm not going to ask for or demand an update, take your time. Just, yknow, remember to keep the consumer updated on stuff so we know we can still look forward to your work? ^^
I'm active on discord, post weekly reports on patreon, and publish a daily progress tracker on our website, patreon page, and discord server. My assumption is that if anyone is interested in the next release, they would check one of those pages and see we're still actively working on the next release.
Understandable, I personally just don't want to add yet another Discord that I won't be active in, and I don't have a good income to warrant paying for a Patreon sub in general so I typically don't look at Patreon links. Upon checking the Patreon though... most updates are all locked behind the base pay wall. I have seen other Patreons at least freely allow people to see the update notes or something, so like... Due to me being poor as fuck, I can't exactly see anything in regards to updates. Which leaves this page still, which has been neglected ^^;; pair that with other comments also saying stuff (like one of the replies that you even responded to above this post) it kinda makes sense why I felt like the game had died. After all, the last news thing posted on this page was over a year ago >_>;; and like... there hasn't exactly been any new update either. Regardless, doesn't change that I am happy to hear this isn't a dead game, it is really well done and I look forward to updates and next parts to the game :)
lil P.S. bit: have you considered putting like... older versions for free but current version as a paid for option on itchio like some other devs do? It would potentially help you as well as keep the players in the loop? ^^; Specifically for folks like me who can maybe make 1 payment vs a paid subscription...
There is still the progress tracker on their website. While it might not be an actual written update you can always go there and see what is done. Also if you look on the timeframes between the last updates it shows clearly that updates are taking their time.
For a developer it is hard to manage the degree of taking the time it needs to finish something and still making continues updates so no one thinks something is abondend. itch is not the best place to do regular updates so I can fully understand the dev not doing it here.
Also to the "what other people say". I already seen people calling a game abondend where the last update was a week ago so you not always can trust on this :D
I think if the game really catched you and you like updates accessing the discord server is not a bad thing if it is to much for you thats understandable than you have regulary the website I think. otherwise you might just not be interested enough to regulary check it which is completly fine too.
At least thats just my point of view.

there's no pregnancy in the game for the moment. but we plan to have it added in a "fetishes" update (see my response to a question about foot fetish).

Jokes aside, Impregnation isn't that intrusive compared to a lot of other fetishes, as most would be happy with an extra ui element (perhaps two; it has common ties to x-ray) and some extra dialogue. But if you really want to make them happy, make it a game mechanic that can be maximized or otherwise boosted.
